7 Dec 2024 – 9 Deb 2025 “An Anonymous Starship Brings Fragments of Dreams” by Prach Pimarnman
SEASUN, the art exchange project between Southeast Asia, is pleased to announce the exhibition ” An Anonymous Starship Brings Fragments of Dreams ” by Thai artist Prach Pimarnman at Q SO-KO (Nakagawa-ku, Nagoya).
Hailing from the deep south of Thailand (the three southern border provinces of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat), where the majority of the population is Muslim, despite Thailand being a predominantly Buddhist country, Pimarnman has been creating and exhibiting installation and video works based in the region. His works intersect his Malay Muslim roots, family stories, and Thai history.
This exhibition presents the results of Pimarnman’s month-long residency in Nagoya through SEASUN’s artist-in-residence program. As part of a “Nagoya Halal Food Art Project,” he conducted research on halal restaurants in Nagoya and the surrounding communities. We invite you to experience Pimarnman’s first exhibition in Japan and see what kind of work he has created about Nagoya through the lens of halal food.
