Nagoya Culture Promotion Unit: Bilateral Visual Art Exhibition: Nagoya x Penang

コロナ禍により海外からアーティストが招けない状況の中、どうにかアーティストインレジデンスをやりたいと、港まちづくり協議会と国際交流基金クアラルンプール日本文化センターにご協力いただき、マレーシア・ペナンのアーティストを名古屋にオンラインで招き、名古屋を知ってもらい、そして名古屋のアーティストと一緒に作品を制作するプロジェクトをMAT, Nagoyaの皆さんと一緒に実施。文字通り、名古屋とペナンで同時開催する双子のような美術展が２つ誕生しました。令和2年度名古屋市文化芸術活動連携支援事業助成事業。
With the cooperation of the Port City Planning Council and the Japan Foundation Kuala Lumpur Japan Cultural Center, we have been working on a project to invite artists from Penang, Malaysia to come to Nagoya online, to get to know Nagoya, and to create artworks with Nagoya artists. Together with MAT, Nagoya, the artists invited Malaysian and Penangese artists to Nagoya online to learn about Nagoya and create artworks together with Nagoya artists. Literally, two twin-like art exhibitions were born, held simultaneously in Nagoya and Penang. The project was subsidized by the City of Nagoya in FY 2020 to support collaboration in cultural and artistic activities.
